Bridal Consultant

A Bridal Consultant - what they do and why you might need one for your wedding planning:

WHAT THEY DO: A consultant's job is to help the bride plan the wedding, as well as help the actual event itself run smoothly. They do things like help book locations and vendors, they can sometimes get great deals with vendors due to their connections, schedule wedding related meetings, and coordinate the wedding event. Their job is to make sure it all runs smoothly so that the bride doesn't have to worry.

WHY GET ONE: If you are feeling in over your head with all the details of wedding planning, hiring a consultant may be in your best interest so that you don't end up a Bridezilla on your wedding day. If it's an expense you can afford and you are feeling overwhelmed, definitely consider it to save yourself the added stress that comes with wedding planning.

HOW TO CHOOSE: First, be aware that vendors may give the gift of free consulting as far as other vendors. Usually they have their own business in mind and this is not the same as having your own consultant. Your consultant will help you find vendors that suit your specific needs. They will sit down and help you plan your wedding based on your likes and dislikes.

Don't be afraid to shop around. Find the perfect one for your wedding and make sure that in addition to great deals, you find someone who you and your fiance are happy to plan your wedding with because you'll be spending a lot of time talking and discussing the wedding with them.

If you don't know where to look for one, check out professional consultant associations for a referral, read reviews online, and talk to friends or family who have hired one.
