Are you looking for ways to bring your costs down? Consider these ideas:

* ALTERNATIVE CATERING: Instead of going the banquet hall route, hire a caterer who specializes in more casual fare. What about a BBQ reception, a picnic wedding, or a grilled cheese truck? The sky is really the limit as to the ideas out there. The goal is to spend a more reasonable amount of money per person and still have people enjoy the food they're eating. Make the difference something unique about your wedding! Another idea, probably for a smaller wedding, is to do a pot luck.

* BRING YOUR OWN ALCOHOL: If you can find a location that will allow you to do this, you will save a bundle of money. Buy in bulk and look for deals. Hire a friend to be your bartender, if you'd like to have one. There is a lot of money to be saved buy doing this. Of course, you can forgo the alcohol completely and save bundles of money.

* CUT YOUR GUEST LIST: Don't even know your 2nd cousin once removed? Cut them. Sure, some people will be offended, but you don't even know your 2nd cousin once removed...remember? Make sure to include the people that mean the most to you on this special day, after that, the guests you include on your guest list are optional.

* FLOWERS: Instead of flowers, is there a cheaper way to decorate your wedding? Something that goes along with your theme perhaps? It's something to think about since flowers can be very, very expensive.

* PHOTOGRAPHER & VIDEOGRAPHER: These two people charge a fortune for their services. And, yes, the memories of your special day are exceedingly important. That being said, can you really afford the $2000 for a photographer? Think of alternatives - does anyone in your circle of friends or family take photos as a hobby or profession? Are there any schools in your area with amateur photographers? Check craigslist. Or, just simply ask everyone to take photos and send them to you (at least a few have to turn out, right?) and set up your own video camera or two.
