At the first wedding, Charles meets an American woman named Carrie (played by Andie McDowell)and ends up spending the night with her. To Charles, she is the perfect woman, but of course there are big complications! So, the story goes from wedding to wedding to wedding to funeral to wedding. Will Charles and Carrie fall in love and have a wedding of their own? A REVIEW FROM SOMEONE WHO LOVES ROMCOMS This is a great movie! It made Hugh Grant a star and for good reason - it's a funny, warmhearted, great story! I started laughing almost as soon as the movie started. The characters are likable and it's not predictable. You want Charles and Carrie to somehow make it work. Will they or won't they? And, we've all had those years when it's been wedding after wedding after wedding...what's more fun than seeing it happen to someone else!
