The Wedding Date

The Wedding Date is one of those wedding movies for anyone who's ever had to go single to a wedding!

SUMMARY

This 2005 romantic comedy stars Debra Messing as Kat, a single girl, who feels she absolutely must have a date to her sister's wedding, particularly because her ex-fiance is going to be there. So, Kat hires a male escort named Nick, played by Dermot Mulroney, to accompany her to the wedding. Will their relationship remain strictly business?

QUOTES FROM THE MOVIE (to give you an idea what it's all about):

Kat Ellis: [to Nick] You're like the Yoda of escorts. Getting you on the phone was harder than getting into college.

Airplane Passenger: Your first time flying?
Kat Ellis: My sister's getting married and the best man is my ex. In case I chicken out, I want to know where all the exits are.

A REVIEW FROM SOMEONE WHO LOVES ROMCOMS:

I had high hopes for this movie, but it was only mediocre. Perhaps it bothered me that Nick is an escort...as in real escort. So, how many people has he been with before Kat? Yuck. And, I thought Dermot Mulroney looked a little ragged. Still, there are some cute scenes in it and I like Debra Messing. Overall, though, mediocre. There are better wedding movies out there.
