Wedding Insurance

Is Wedding Insurance right for you? Not sure what it's for or why you might ever need it? Well, here are your answers!

WHAT IT IS: It is very simply, insurance that you buy just in case something goes wrong with the wedding. And, although it doesn't cover a change of heart, it will protect you against other things that might happen to your wedding.

Wedding Event Cancellation Insurance will protect you if you need to cancel the wedding. It covers things like illness, accidents, extreme weather, any damages (like a damaged gown) or no-shows. This will protect you financially from losing all of that money.

Wedding Liability Insurance will protect you on your wedding day, if something goes wrong like someone gets injured or property gets destroyed. Some venues may even require this sort of insurance.

WHERE TO BUY IT: Make sure to do your research and explore each company before you go with them. Get recommendations from friends or try doing a google search. Expect rates to be $150 and up.

Google will recommend sites like: wedsafe.com or protectmywedding.com, but there are many to research and some regular insurance companies may do event insurance. For more information, try doing a search here for - wedding insurance or event insurance:

WHY YOU SHOULD GET IT: If you are spending a lot of money on your wedding and can't afford to lose that money in case something happens and the wedding needs to be cancelled, then you should at least consider this purchase. And, some venues do require liability insurance anyway.

DO YOUR RESEARCH: Ask your vendors if they are covered by insurance if something goes wrong. Your reception site and most of your vendors may already be insured!

TALK TO AN INSURANCE AGENT: After you get a quote, make sure you talk to an insurance agent and that you are happy with what will be covered with the insurance.

Good luck!
